This week, Triton Hydrogen had the privilege of attending the CLIMIT Summit 2025 in Larvik, Norway\u2014 a key event marking 20 years of pioneering CO\u2082 reduction and storage projects. The summit brought together global leaders in carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) to discuss the latest innovations and challenges in the field.\u00a0<\/p>

Exploring New Applications for Tritonex in CO<\/strong>\u2082 Transport<\/strong><\/p>

One of the most exciting discussions during the event was our meeting with Nemo Maritime, a company specialising in subsea CCUS infrastructure. As they look towards scaling CO\u2082 transport into the North Sea, they are exploring funding opportunities for testing Tritonex as a CO\u2082 barrier coating.<\/p>

For Nemo Maritime, ensuring the integrity of large-scale infrastructure\u2014ship tanks, pipelines, and transport systems for liquefied CO\u2082 storage and injection\u2014is a top priority. With potentially thousands of square meters of coated surfaces required, the opportunity to test Tritonex as a protective solution against CO\u2082 permeation and corrosion represents an exciting collaboration between our two companies.<\/p>

Tritonex, originally developed as a hydrogen barrier coating, has demonstrated strong anti-permeation properties. Expanding its applications into CO\u2082 transport and storage aligns with our mission to support the broader energy transition with advanced material solutions. By working with industry leaders like Nemo Maritime, we aim to play a role in enhancing the durability and safety of CCUS infrastructure, supporting the global push towards net-zero emissions.<\/p>
